Roy Named To All-NBA Third Team
Portland Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy was named to the 2009-10 All-NBA Third Team, the NBA announced today. Roy, named to the All-NBA Second Team in 2008-09, becomes the third Trail Blazer in franchise history to earn multiple All-NBA Team honors, joining Clyde Drexler (four) and Bill Walton (two). He is the only Trail Blazer to be named to both the All-Rookie Team and All-NBA Team during his career. Roy, 25, averaged a team-best 21.5 points to go with 4.4 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 37.2 minutes in 65 games (all starts) during the 2009-10 season. He was one of just four NBA players to average at least 21.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists (Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade). The fourth-year guard scored 23 points or more in 15 straight games from Dec. 1-Jan. 2, the longest stretch of 23-point outings in franchise history.
